About Us
Swagati Sneha Sangam (SSS) is a community-based organisation established on 19th February 2008 with guidance from the parent organisation SVDS during the Avahan II Phase, supported by HLFPPT. The organisation empowers women and marginalized communities — especially female sex workers — in Anakapalli and surrounding districts. SSS works on health, social protection, livelihoods, legal literacy, capacity building, and organizational development. As of 2024, the organisation serves over 1,100 members across Anakapalli and Manyam districts.

📈 Year at a Glance — Key Highlights (2023–24)

• 🏥 Health & Well-being: Conducted 25 health camps benefiting 3,800+ members and their families; supported 30 free surgeries under Aarogyasri and linked PLHIV to ART centers.
• 🆘 COVID-19 & Emergency Support: Distributed 400 ration kits and 3,500 food packets; supplied safety materials and oxygen concentrators to local PHCs through partnerships.
• 🧾 Social Protection (SP Grant): Assisted 654 members to obtain identity documents, 198 to access welfare schemes, and opened 56 new bank accounts to enhance financial inclusion.
• ⚖️ Legal Literacy & Crisis Response: Conducted 325 legal literacy sessions reaching 439 individuals, helped 16 members in crisis cases, and strengthened partnerships with DLSA and police.
• 👩‍🏫 Education & Child Support: Provided education kits, uniforms, and tuition support for children from PLHIV and vulnerable families.

📂 Program Summaries

Health & Nutrition

SSS implements regular health check-ups, HIV/AIDS awareness, ART follow-up, reproductive health camps, and mental health sessions. In partnership with Swathi Mahila Sangam (Bangalore), the organisation ensures access to quality care and free surgeries under the Aarogyasri network. Nutrition kits are distributed monthly to PLHIV members and vulnerable families.

Social Protection & Documentation

Under the GFATM C19 SP Grant, SSS trained 18 community facilitators who organized documentation drives for Aadhaar, PAN, caste and income certificates, and bank accounts. These efforts improved access to government welfare schemes and social safety nets.

Legal Empowerment & Advocacy

With support from Swathi Mahila Sangam (SR) and SAATHII, SSS conducted legal literacy sessions, crisis response support, and advocacy meetings. The CBO participated in district-level discussions with the DLSA and police, advocating for the rights and dignity of women in sex work, in line with the 2022 Supreme Court guidelines.

Livelihoods & Skill Development

Through microloan linkages, enterprise seed support, and vocational training, SSS helped members diversify their income sources. Tailoring, beauty services, and small trade activities were supported with mentorship and financial inclusion initiatives.

🏛 Governance & Institutional Strengthening

SSS held regular Board of Directors (BOD) meetings, completed annual audits and income tax filings, and began the process of obtaining 12A, 80G, CSR-1, and Darpan registration. Leadership and capacity-building trainings in Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam strengthened governance, legal literacy, and crisis response readiness among leaders and staff.
